The mother and aunt of Hakim Awad, one of the Palestinians who participated in the Itamar massacre, appeared on a Palestinian television program last week, declaring him a “legend” and a “hero”.

The aunt also read a poem she had written in the terrorists’ honor, while the mother proudly stated that her son was the perpetrator of the massacre.

Hakim Awad was sentenced in August 2011 to five consecutive life sentences for his part in the murder of five members of the Fogel family last March.

Palestinian Media Watch, an Israel-based media watchdog organization, exposed the comments, which were made on a PA-run station.
