Fire was reported at the entrance to the Jewish community of Ofakim, in the fields along the side of the road, about 20 kilometers west of Be’er Sheva in southern Israel.

Although there was a great deal of thick black smoke, no one was injured and no property damage was reported.

It’s not clear how the fire got started. Due to the windy conditions in the area, the fire was able to spread fairly rapidly.
