A South Florida high school was in lockdown Thursday morning, April 16, after a student at Piper High School was stabbed in the chest. The attack occurred in the school gym, according to a local television news station, WPLG 10.

A Piper student was arrested in connection with the stabbing. He is in custody.

Sunrise is in South Florida, near Fort Lauderdale.

The injured student was removed by ambulance. He was conscious when he was removed from the scene and taken to Broward General Medical Center. The injuries did not appear to be life threatening.

  1. First it was Guns now its knives. I guest we are going to have to registrar all knives as they are just as dangerous as these dumb guns that go around killing people.

  2. Maybe people will begin to see that this is a “heart” issue not a gun or knife issue.

  3. I agree. People kill people not the tools they use to do the nasty deed with.
