Rockets fired from Gaza into Israel as seen from Sderot, 2014

For the third time in just two weeks, terrorists’ rockets were found stored in UNRWA schools in the Gaza Strip. The discovery was announced by the United Nations’ Refugee Agency.

“We condemn the group or groups who endangered civilians by placing these munitions in our school. This is yet another flagrant violation of the neutrality of our premises. We call on all the warring parties to respect the inviolability of U.N. property,” UNRWA spokesman Chris Gunness said in a statement.

Gunness condemned “those responsible” for storing the rockets in an UNRWA school, but he refused to say who was responsible.

If Gunness did not want to take a chance and blame Hamas if it was oh, say, the Islamic Jihad group that had used the school as a munitions storage center, he could have said Palestinian Arabs. Instead, his obfuscatory statement could lead some to believe that Israel might be the responsible party. As if Israelis might have snuck into the Gaza Strip in the dead of night and hidden their weapons in am UNRWA school.
