Major General (res.) Meir Dagan, former chief of the Mossad, joined United Hatzalah’s international board of directors on Sunday afternoon. Dagan joined the organization in a ceremony held at United Hatzalah’s headquarters, where he also personally dedicated an ambucycle to United Hatzalah’s fleet of more than 500.

“It was a great pleasure and honor for me to join this organization, and to meet people who are willing to save lives, no matter the gender, color, or religion.”, said Dagan. “I believe the cause is right. It is a just and worthy cause… I believe you are fulfilling the mission in a very profound way.”

United Hatzalah Founder and President Eli Beer’s said: “I am honored that Mr. Dagan, who is one of the greatest people in Israel who protected this country for many years, is part of United Hatzalah’s international board of directors, with his help we will be able to save even more lives.”

United Hatzalah is Israel’s first and largest fully-volunteer emergency rapid response service. With a fleet of over 500 ambucycles, United Hatzalah’s 2300 volunteers respond to nearby emergencies from mobile-alerts and are able to arrive first on site to administer urgent care within minutes from the initial call of distress – bridging the gap between emergency and ambulance arrival. United Hatzalah works exclusively with volunteers, they do not solicit funds for their life saving treatment and rely purely on generous donations from supporters worldwide.
