Gilad Schalit met Wednesday with French President Nicolas Sarkozy in the presidential palace in Paris.
Shalit, freed from Hamas captivity in a prisoner exchange on the eve of Sukkot last year, did not speak to reporters, and was seen leaving the palace with his parents.
According to a statement released by the president’s office, Sarkozy saluted Shalit for his “exemplary courage” and extolled his parents for “their determination and their dignity in the face of the ordeal and the anguish.”
