Enrique Marquez, a friend of one of the San Bernardino radical Islamist terrorists who murdered 14 people and injured 21 others, was arrested in connection with that Dec. 2 attack.
Marquez, 24, a convert to Islam, purchased two of the rifles used by Farook and his wife, Tashfeen Malik.
FBI investigators disclosed that Marquez told them he and Farook planned an earlier terrorist attack back in 2012. Those plans were called off when others planning assaults against overseas U.S. military bases were arrested.
Shortly after the Dec. 2 massacre, Marquez checked himself into a mental health facility. He is now cooperating with the investigating authorities.
Marquez married a Russian woman in what some friends described as a sham marriage. The marriage allowed the woman to gain entry into the United States. The bride of Marquez is married to Farook’s brother.
The exact nature of the charges against Marquez are not yet known.
