At 6:50 AM residents of Kissufim heard the “Tzeva Adom” rocket alarm go off, but there was no “push” notifications to them though from the servers to their phones and other automated systems.

No subsequent rocket explosions or landings were heard.

9:00 Update: Galei Tzahal (IDF Radio) reports that the Gaza rocket was launched at the Eshkol region, but fell short, and apparently landed in Gaza.

Earlier reported incorrectly indicated that it was a test launch that was aimed towards the ocean.

It is not clear why the rocket alert system acted as it did in this incident – specifically, why did one system activate and not the other, and which system acted properly and which failed.
