It is not yet known how many Hamas operatives were hurt in the collapse, nor why the tunnel caved in on Monday.

A little more than a week ago, an Islamic Jihad terrorist died while helping to dig a tunnel which collapsed on him in Gaza near the Erez Crossing into Israel.

Seven other terrorists were trapped for hours in the collapsed tunnel, but eventually were rescued by fellow Islamic Jihad operatives.
