Israel Police received a call on the ‘100′ hotline a short while ago from a young girl who told police she was being attacked – but the call went dead before officers could question her. One media outlet reports police heard screams but that has not been confirmed.
Police helicopters have taken to the skies to search for her near the northern Israeli community of Tzuriel, the area where scanners tracked the source of the call.
The girl has not yet been found and security personnel are continuing to take further action at this time.
It is not clear whether the call was an authentic distress call, or one of the hundreds of prank calls received by Israel Police dispatchers even now, within the past week. Security personnel continue to search for the girl and to attempt to track down the phone, now one hour following the call.
