The Hamas terrorist regime in Gaza has decided to copy the Iranian and Syrian propaganda machine and launch an “independent” news agency that will be “under the supervision of the government information office.”

The new “Al Rai (Opinion)” agency was announce d by its director, Salameh Maaruf, who told the French AFP news agency, “It will be an important source of information on government activities, news releases and letters from the prime minister,” referring to Ismail Haniyeh.

And just how free of government control will it be? Here is Maaruf’s answer:

“The agency is independent in terms of personnel and administration, but the government information office will be responsible for supervising it.” In simple English, the news agency will give jobs to people other than those in the interior, defense and foreign ministries but will be under the control of Hamas’ information officials.

Maaruf also said the public can submit “suggestions and complaints,” which will be forwarded to the relevant government departments, for what that is worth.

Maaruf admitted the news agency will deliver “the official government line” but will carry other points of view.”

Iran, which sends Hamas money, weapons and terrorists, “reports” on the “Zionist regime and accomplishments of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. The official Syrian SANA news agency carries daily report of Zionist and American-funded “terrorists” who it says carry out massacres against innocent Syrian civilians.
