Hamas number two Moussa Abu Marzouk said Thursday that if Hamas comes to power in a future Palestinian state, it will not uphold any peace agreements with Israel.

Any agreement, even if ratified by Palestinian legislators, would not be upheld, and will only be considered a temporary truce in the war, according to Marzouk.

In an interview published at the Forward, Marzouk said “we will not recognize Israel as a state.”  Marzouk also noted that anyone who took part in the killing of six million Jews during the Holocaust “should be ashamed”, in contravention of a Hamas policy to deny that the Holocaust ever took place.
