The Canada Post has issued a Hannukah stamp for the first time in its 150 year history.

The stamp is issued in two colorful geometric designs. One is that of a dreidel, that spinning top used in the special gambling game played on Hannukah.

The other is that of the menorah or hanukkiah — the eight-branched candelbra that is lit with an increasing number of candles each night of the eight-night holiday.

Three million Hanukkah stamps were issued this time around. Canada Post has indicated that if sales go well for this printing, production will be higher in coming years and new designs will be added.
