A powerful car bomb explosion rocked a Hezbollah complex in Beirut early Thursday evening, killing at least 22 people and wounding 150 others, Red Cross officials told the Beirut Daily Star.

The explosion burned dozens of cars and nearby homes.

The attack severely damages Hezbollah’s standing in the country, where nationalists are incensed at the terrorist organization’s fighting in Syria with forces loyal to Syrian President Bassar al-Assad.
