Israel Aerospace Industries Ltd. has announced the closing of a $200 million deal on Monday (March 27) in Asia, according to a report by Globes.

Under the deal, IAI subsidiary Elta Systems will supply an intelligence system to the client nation, which requested its name be withheld.

El-Op, a subsidiary of IAI competitor Elbit Systems Ltd. helped develop the system and is a subcontractor in the current deal.

The country’s air force is to be supplied with advanced location and observation pods for installation on warplanes in accordance with their operational needs, Globes reported.

This order is a followup to a previous similar contract by the same customer, IAI said, although the current order is for more advanced pods than those currently in use.

“This is an important deal, of which we are proud,” said IAI president and CEO Joseph Weiss.
