IDF Soldiers and Military Police on Wednesday arrested a Palestinian armed with seven explosives at the Beka’ot crossing in the Jordan River Valley. The terrorist appeared suspicious and while searching him the soldiers discovered three knives and bullets, as well as the explosives. The terrorist was taken for further investigation by security forces.

Over the last year, several terrorist attempts were thwarted at the Beka’ot crossing.

Some three months ago, two attacks were thwarted at the Beka’ot crossing. A terrorist armed with an explosive was targeted at the crossing after he approached the soldiers stationed there, clearly armed and threateningly yelling “Allah Akbar.” According to the internationally accepted laws of engagement. when the terrorist ignored the soldiers’ calling him to stop, they opened fire.

That same month, another incident was reported at the crossing, when IDF soldiers opened fire at a suspect who was approaching the fence, holding a broken bottle. The suspect was severely injured and died of his injuries, despite receiving immediate medical care.
