The severely wounded IDF soldier who miraculously managed to escape with his life when Hamas fired a Kornet anti-tank missile at the bus in which he was riding near the Gaza border, has regained consciousness and is beginning to respond to his surroundings.

Doctors say the soldier’s condition is now improving; he is breathing on his own, and beginning to talk. As a result, he is being transferred from the ICU to the surgical department.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the soldier Wednesday and spoke with him briefly, wishing him a speedy recovery from his injuries.
