In response to numerous rockets fired at Israel late Sunday (June 23) night, Israel Air Force aircraft targeted sites of terrorist infrastructure including two weapon storage facilities in the central Gaza Strip and a rocket launch site in the southern Gaza Strip. IAF pilots reported accurate strikes on the targets.

Earlier Sunday night, two rockets were successfully intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system.

Lt. Col. Peter Lerner: “Last night’s rocket attack is an intolerable act of aggression against Israel and its civilians. Hamas is held accountable for all acts of terrorism deriving from the Gaza Strip. The IDF is determined to safeguard the State of Israel and will operate accordingly to do so”.

Following the rocket attacks the Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) announced that the Kerem Shalom cargo crossing will be closed until further notice.
