Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman issued a statement Sunday denying that Israel assassinated senior Hamas commander Mazen Fuqahaa in Gaza on March 24.

“We are not looking for adventures,” Liberman said in a statement issued by his office during a visit to Sderot in southern Israel, located barely a mile from the Gaza border. “We are conducting security policy with responsibility and determination.

“It doesn’t matter what Hamas says, it’s important what the Jews do. Let Hamas do what it wants, and we will do what we need to do.

“Hamas is known for internal assassinations, for settling accounts,” Liberman added. “I suggest they look for it there.”
