Hummus is not always served as a creamy dip -- although that was the dish used in an attempt to break the British Guinness World Record.

Israel’s Tourism Ministry has asked Michelin to carry out an independent study to assess the country’s gastronomy standing and its potential.

In fact, the study is already in process, with a final report to be presented to the ministry by December 2017.

Michelin is considered a global reference for gastronomy; as such, the research findings will serve as an important tool for Israel in promoting culinary tourism, the ministry says.
