A 38 year old Israeli man was killed in a Gaza mortar attack on Erez Junction. He was transported to Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon as medics tried to revive him. He died from his wounds.
He has been identified as coming from the community of Beit Aryeh.

He is the first direct Israeli casualty from a strike. A few other Israelis have died from heart attacks after the siren went off.
He was at Erez, distributing food to the soldiers.
There have been a second lightly wounded man who has also been transported to Barzilai Hospital.
