A number of Israelis, frustrated by long lines at gas mask distributing centers, have turned to eBay to purchase them for protection in the event of a chemical or gas attack on Israel by Syria.

Security officials have said the likelihood of such an attack is low but nevertheless have opened Home Front Command stations to distribute masks and replace those that are  not out of date. In eBay, some masks sold by suppliers of military surplus equipment, are going for more than $100 each.
