A Lod district court has decided that former Israeli president, Moshe Katzav, will stay in prison for Pesach, according to a report in YNet.

Katzav, who is serving a 7 year term for rape, put in a request for a Passover furlough.

Israeli prisoners can receive regular furloughs from prison if they are on good behavior.

The prison warden turned down Katzav’s request for a Passover furlough, as his last furlough was less than 60 days before Passover, and the prison system doesn’t give more than one furlough in any 60 day period.
