Kerry Praises Morsi as Egypt Fetes over New F-16 Warplanes

Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi, who campaigned on an anti-Israel platform, vowed never to visit Jerusalem, and whose country is on the brink of bankruptcy, received four new F-16 war planes on Sunday from the United States, which praised Egypt “as a force for peace, security and leadership as the Middle East proceeds with its challenging yet essential journey towards democracy.”

Last year, the Obama administration declared that the journey was over with the election victory of the radical anti-Israel, anti-American and anti-democratic Muslim Brotherhood.

Egypt celebrated the arrival of four new F-16 jets, part of 20 of the advanced warplanes that are to be delivered by the end of 2013 – in addition to 224 Egypt already has.

“We look to Egypt to continue to serve as a force for peace, security and leadership as the Middle East proceeds with its challenging yet essential journey towards democracy,” according to an official statement that quoted U.S. Ambassador to Egypt Anne Patterson.

Republican Senator Rand Paul failed last week to pass a bill to halt the sale of F-16s to Egypt.

So, are Obama and Company smoking Egyptian hashish?

"…praised Egypt “as a force for peace, security and leadership…" He must be kidding.
