Kuwait expressed “pride” over its star Taekwondo athlete who lost the chance for an international championship because he refused to play against an Israeli in a contest of the marital art whose students’ oath is to “build a more peaceful world.”

Kuwaiti taekwondo federation chairman Waleed el-Mirshad praised Abdullah el-Farhood for withdrawing from the Trelleborg Open 2013 Sweden on Saturday rather than having to play in a contest with a Zionist.
