Liberman: ‘We Are Facing a Serious Escalation in the South’

In a meeting with European Commission Vice-President Catherine Ashton, Liberman said: "We will not tolerate this situation for many days."

Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman on Wednesday spoke about the continud rocket fire targetted at Israeli villages and towns around Gaza, saying: “I think we are before a serious escalation in the south,” Walla reported.

In a meeting with Vice-President of the European Commission Catherine Ashton, who is visiting Israel, Liberman added: “We will not tolerate this situation for many days.”

Ashton is expected to make an official protest at the UN Security Council against continued rocket fire from Gaza.
