The Central Elections Committee, headed by Judge Rubinstein, determined that Likud-Beytenu, Haaretz, Maariv and Yisrael Hayom each have to pay a NIS 1000 fine to HaBayit HaYehudi for the anonymous ads they ran attacking Naftali Bennett.

The ads were run anonymously in various papers, but it was soon disclosed that it was Likud-Beytenu that was behind them.

Running the ads anonymously was in violations of the election laws.

The Likud has been hemorrhaging seats in the polls ever since they started attacking Bennett, and the latest poll shows Bennett’s HaBayit Hayehudi party up to 15 seats.

The Likud attacked Bennett for saying on the Nissim Mashal program that he was personally incapable of uprooting Jews (and Arabs) from their homes. Apparently that resonated with a lot of voters.
