Lithuanian Lawmaker: Jews Only Want to Take Money

By: JTA

Lithuania’s prime minister condemned a lawmaker for suggesting Jews are cheap and “are just looking to take from Lithuania.”

“I judge this statement to be very negative and it doesn’t represent the party’s position,” Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevicius said Dec. 23, according to the news site Delfi.lt. A spokesperson for Butkevicius’ Social Democratic Party of Lithuania said the party “does not tolerate any forms of anti-Semitism.”

The prime minister was responding to a comment made earlier this week by fellow party member Bronius Bradauskas, who told the BNS news agency that, “Jews were just looking to take money.”

Bradauskas made the statement in connection to a government proposal to make extra pension payments to about 200 Lithuanian Righteous among the Nations, non-Jews recognized by the Yad Vashem Holocaust museum in Jerusalem for having risked their lives to rescue Jews during the Holocaust.

“I do not see why the Lithuanian state should pay,” Bradauskas, chairman of the Lithuanian Parliamentary Committee on Budget and Finance, told BNS. “It would be quite logical if we turned to Israel, and that it should pay. But no, the Jews do not want to pay, they are just looking to take from Lithuania.”

Lithuania had a Jewish population of 250,000 in 1939 but 95 percent of its Jews were murdered during the Holocaust by Nazi soldiers and Lithuanian collaborators. Today Lithuania has some 5,000 Jews, according to the European Jewish Congress.

There is about 200 Lithuanian Righteous among the Nations, non-Jews recognized by the Yad Vashem Holocaust museum in Jerusalem for having risked their lives to rescue Jews during the Holocaust. These people risked everything for the right thing to do. They must be at least 75 plus years old. Can you give a price tag on life? These are the role models Lithuania wants to present to the world. Get the 5,000 Jews out of there. Why are there Jews left there?

  8. Not that I like,,I don’t yet poor people who think that.

  9. Eduardo Mazo says:

    he impressing to be popular.

What money does this insignificant 5th rate country possess? No Jew's=no economy. Back to living in caves before the Jew's arrived one thousand years ago.

  11. Such a disgusting statement

  12. Chaim Szmidt says:

Eilthireach Alba, you are the disgusting one here! While I vehemently disagree with Ron's choice of words, your own words disgust every decent human on this planet. Your refuse to acknowledge the hatred that possessed your countrymen to treat the Jews in ways that even the Nazis found horrendous, you have no moral right to even talk about the Jews, you murderous son of murderers. To condemn the Jews, 245,000 of who you butchered and stole their possessions shows the blindness, the depravity, the utter immorality and lack of intellectual integrity of you kind!!!!

  13. Eilthireach Alba says:

Chaim Szmidt Actually my country men and blood relatives died in ditches by their hundreds of thousands on the other side of Europe and in North Africa fighting the Germans so I am not a Lithuanian but to paint the Jews in Eastern Europe as innocent victims during the second world war is an evil lie as many Jews were in prominent positions within the mass murdering Communist groups across Europe and Russia and were just as guilty of slaughter as any of the non-German anti-communist partisans and we only need to mention events such as the Holodomor, Katyn etc, and this is forgetting other events which happened before and after the war. The second world war was a WAR. There was not a single innocent group, be they Jew or Gentile, but the time is over to pretend that Europeans are the only people capable of evil.

I have evidently upset a Jewish supremacist. You forget that Europeans also died in the Second world war, but according to your Talmud you don't consider us "Goyim" humans anyway so what does our suffering matter to you, the chosen people.

  14. medieval ignorant drunken louts for the most part. bitterly envious and shrunken-brained. those 200 Righteous are all that redeem them even now.
