Palestinian Authority Arabs hurled rocks at dozens of vehicles Sunday morning on Highway 60 south of Gush Etzion, causing damage to several cars but no injuries.

Most of the attacks occurred at Al Aroob and Beit Omar, two hotspots between Gush Etzion and Kiryat Arba-Hebron.

Israeli soldiers guard both areas 24 hours a day, but they are not deployed along the entire stretch of the highway, a maneuver that would require enormous manpower.

IDF guidelines limit soldiers’ ability to shoot at terrorists who throw rocks with the intent of causing fatal injuries or forcing the driver to lose control of his vehicle and crash.
