JERUSALEM – Stars of David, one of them surrounding a swastika, were spray painted on a path in the Old City of Jerusalem on the eve of Israel’s Independence Day. The Stars of David are meant to be degraded by the stomping of by-passers. Posters in honor of the terrorist Amjad A-Safdi were posted near the graffiti. A-Safdi, an Arab Israeli lawyer who was arrested a few weeks ago by the GSS and police in suspicion of aiding the Hamas terrorist organization was released to house arrest, and committed suicide last week. In a separate incident, Arutz 7 reported that vandals defaced Israeli flags in the center of Jerusalem today with Nazi swastikas.

The owner of the apartment where the flags were desecrated with swastikas was shocked and immediately contacted the police, who came to the scene to collect his testimony, reports the resident, who asked to remain anonymous. The owner further filed a complaint with the police, and an investigation has been launched into the incident.

Neighbors who saw the flags were shocked, stated the resident, adding “they thought that it wouldn’t arrive at their doorsteps, and here it has.”

“We thought that an incident like this would bring here a march of MK’s, ministers and maybe even the president, but evidently an incident like this doesn’t particularly bother the leaders of the state; it only bothers the citizens,” said the resident.
