Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu pointed out to the Cabinet Sunday, “Today, the seventh day of the Hebrew month of Adar, is both the birthday of Moses our Teacher, and the anniversary of his passing.”

The place where Moses died is not mentioned in the Torah, and the Chief Rabbinate years ago also fixed the seventh day of Adar as Memorial Day for Fallen Soldiers whose place of burial is unknown.

A plot was dedicated in their memory at the military cemetery on Mt. Herzl, in which the national memorial service is held each year. The names of all soldiers in an unknown resting place are engraved on a wall built in their honor on Mt. Herzl.

Memorial Day for other soldiers is on the fourth day of the Hebrew month of Iyar, one day before Yom HaAtzmaut (Independence Day).
