#USStrong - US begins rotation in presidency of United Nations Security Council, September 2018.

U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley this week began her new role as temporary leader of the UN Security Council.

For the month of September, the United States is serving its turn in the rotating presidency of the UNSC, a position that rotates every month among the 15 Council members.

“It will be a busy and intense month,” Haley said in a tweet Monday at the start of her term. “Having said that, I and our USUN team could not be more proud to lead during this important time in the world.”
