Noam Shalit has officially thrown his hat into the political arena and is running for a spot in the Labor party.

In his letter to voters, Shalit writes that he has five years experience in running public protests in his efforts to release his son [Gilad] from being held hostage [by Hamas].

Shalit led a very successful 5 year PR campaign to pressure the government to get his son released “at any price”.

The public relations firm Rimon-Cohen-Shinkman was involved in the campaign behind the scenes, flooding the media outlets with “Free Gilad” messages.

Shalit stated that his new goal is to get rid of the current [Likud led] government that he feels is “bad:.

There was no mention in his letter, that is was this “bad” government and specifically Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that actually succeeded in getting his son Gilad released, at the terrible price of freeing a thousand terrorists in return.

Maybe Noam has a point.

  1. Yehuda Cohen says:

Replace Bibi with Noam and make the government worse.

  2. Arie Rosenrauch says:

Someone should remind that it was the Likud government, after being fought every step of the way by his beloved leftists and against the majority desires, did bring his son home. In listening to Shalit, it has become obvious that this selfish cretan would have no problem letting someone else's son rot and die while lambasts against those that sacrificed much to bring his son home. He should move to a country where narcissism and socio-pathology are more the norm – like gaza and Washington DC.

  3. Yehuda Cohen says:

There just might be room for him in the government for we already had rapists, adulterers, ones to take bribes and others of which this list goes on of those who pervert justice. Noam Shalit can be the first who has perverted justice to the extent of releasing murderers with blood on their hands. And after he accomplished this government blood letting, he'll be the first to spit at it for doing so.

  4. Beryl Cohen says:

HE IS DISGUSTING. B"H HIS SON WAS BROUGHT HOME. THIS IS HOW HE SHOWS GRATITUDE!

  5. Ltc Howard says:

Unfortunately, he is not principled. He was willing to sacrifice hundreds of Israeli lives to free his son, normal reaction for a father. Now, he is willing to use the blood of his fellow Israelis to advance a political ideology that benefits him. He should be consigned to the depths of those who benefit from the tragedy of others. He is a shame!

  6. Rivka Miller says:

You should be ashamed of yourself for your comments Mr. Shalit. You should kiss the feet of all those Likud members that got your son out. Do you sleep at night knowing that the freed terrorists have actually gone back to killing innocent victims? Have you gone to any of those family members and told them how sorry you are?
