Opposition leader and Labor party chairman Isaac Herzog expressed strong support for unity in the nation against terrorists Wednesday and condemned public support by Israeli Arab MK Hanin Zoabi (Balad) for those who last week kidnapped three Israeli teens.

Zoabi said in an interview Tuesday morning on Radio Tel Aviv the kidnappers “don’t see any way to change their reality and are forced to use these means until Israel will wake up a little, until Israeli citizens and society will wake up and feel the suffering of the other.”

Herzog sent a letter to Zoabi, writing, “As the search for the boys reached a climax you chose to make obscene statements which showed support for the act of kidnapping. As leader of the opposition and chairman of the Labor party I regard your comments as gravely unacceptable – and wholly condemn them.”
