President Shimon Peres awarded former U.S. President Bill Clinton the President’s medal, Israel’s highest civilian award in Israel, given to those who have made rare and outstanding contributions to Israel or to Humanity.

In his speech at the Presidential Conference in Jerusalem, Peres said that the unwavering commitment of Clinton and his support for the Jewish people in Israel will forever remain in the heart of every one of us.

Clinton thanked the president and said that the desire for peace and reconciliation is a way of life, and that the Hebrew phrase “Tikkun Olam” requires us to expand the boundaries of our imagination to improve society.
