Khalida Jarrar, the Ramallah-based head of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, was “deported” to Jericho by IDF troops on Wednesday, according to the WAFA news agency.

The PFLP is a Marxist-Leninist revolutionary leftist organization founded in 1967, the second largest of the groups forming the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), after Fatah.

An Israeli military court ordered her expulsion within 24 hours on the grounds that she poses a threat to public security, the sources said. Jarrar, a resident of Al-Bireh, is a member of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) and is opposed to talks with Israel.

Jarrar said she refused to sign the document or comply with the order, which she said also included a directive for surveillance while she remains in Jericho.

The entire court order, she commented, is a “violation of international laws.”

Jarrar has been inciting PA Arabs in public speeches over the past month, various Arab media reported.

“The leadership today appears to exist in a different reality from the situation of the Palestinian people in the streets,” Jarrar told Palestine Today in an interview on July 20.

In that interview she denounced PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, demanding that he end any security coordination with Israel, which she claimed keeps “the Palestinian people at the mercy of the occupation.”
