British police reported that the shots fired in front of Manchester’s Yeshivat Shaarei Torah around 2 AM last night. were aimed at the yeshiva and did not happen by accident. The yeshiva is located in the mostly Jewish neighborhood of Broughton Park.

According a report in the Jewish Chronicleת אwo 17 year old boys from Broughton have been arrested  on suspicion of possessing, and discharging a firearm at the Yeshiva in Upper Park Road, in Manchester.

The incident is not being treated as a hate crime or anti-Semitic.

According a report in the Jewish Chronicle, two cars were driving erratically around the yeshiva, which is the largest yeshiva in Manchester, with prominent Hebrew writing on its street side, and then a flash from a gunshot was seen and a shot heard.

A few students went outside to ask the driver to stop honking his horn in the middle of the night. While they were talking, another car arrived and its driver fired a few gunshots.

According to some witnesses only one gunshot was heard.

Police closed down the area.

The website Chadrei Chareidim noted that two weeks ago local police arrested a Muslim who was planning to hit Jewish institutions in Manchester, including Shaarei Torah.
