The International Atomic Energy Agency, or IAEA, is deliberately suppressing information indicating that Iran is seeking to obtain nuclear weapons, according to a senior Israeli government source speaking to this column.

Last week, just as major powers were preparing to discuss harsh sanctions against Tehran, the IAEA released an initial report on Iran’s nuclear program that claimed the country had slowed the expansion of its nuclear production and increased its cooperation with the agency.

Iran’s nuclear chief Ali-Akbar Salehi, speaking on state-run television, called the IAEA report a “big achievement” for his country and rejected continued Western charges over a possible nuclear weapons program as politically motivated.

But the Israeli government charges the IAEA has much more material at its disposal and is deliberately withholding that information.

“The report is harsh, yet at the same time it does not reflect all the information available to the IAEA regarding Iran’s efforts to progress with its military program, as well as its ongoing concealment and deception efforts,” an Israeli Foreign Ministry statement said.

A top Israeli government source said the IAEA was passed a massive amount of data from several Western and Middle Eastern intelligence agencies showing that Iran is actively pursuing research regarding the development of nuclear warheads as well as a full-scale nuclear weapons program.

The source a second IAEA report was written by its inspectors in Iran and signed by the head of that agency in Tehran. The report, however, is being deliberately withheld by IAEA chief Mohammed ElBaradei.

“The governments of many Western countries are aware of the suppressed report and are pressing the IAEA to release it but to no avail,” said the source.

The source said Israel’s government is worried IAEA’s public report will ease international pressure against Iran and make isolating Tehran more difficult.

Prominent Shiekh:

Jewish Temples Never Existed

The Jewish temples never existed, and Jews have no historic connection to Jerusalem, declared Sheikh Taysir Tamimi, president of the PA court system. Tamimi condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for stressing the Jewish people’s historic connection to Jerusalem while in Europe last week.

Tamimi claimed “all Jewish rabbis and extremist organizations” as well as Netanyahu are lying when they state Jerusalem was a historically Jewish city. He called such claims “baseless and untrue.”

“Jerusalem is an Arab and Islamic city and it always has been so,” he said.

Separately, during an exclusive interview with this reporter, Tamimi, one of the most influential Muslim leaders in Israel, took his assertions even further, arguing that the Western Wall really was a tying post for Muhammad’s horse, the Al Aqsa Mosque was built by angels, and Abraham, Moses and Jesus were prophets for Islam.

Tamimi is considered the second most important Palestinian cleric after Muhammad Hussein, the grand mufti of Jerusalem.

Reports Of Peace Deal Were Exaggerated

Headlines last week declaring that President Obama was close to proposing a Mideast peace deal are overly optimistic, according to Israeli and Palestinian officials involved in the negotiations. One Palestinian official surmised the headlines were meant to generate positive public relations for the U.S. president.

“The only deal we are close to is the possibility of eventually beginning talks to one day lead to a peace deal,” said an official in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s bureau.

“Also there may be a photo opportunity in September between Netanyahu and [Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud] Abbas,” he said.

The official said the U.S. and Israel are close to a compromise on freezing Jewish construction in the strategic West Bank but that no compromise has yet been reached.

He said Netanyahu wants a six-to-eight month freeze in the West Bank only and that housing projects already approved would be allowed to continue. The U.S., however, is demanding a total two-year freeze in both the West Bank and eastern sections of Jerusalem. Talks are set to continue next week in Washington.

Madonna And Crew Consuming 110 Pounds Of

Tel Aviv Meat Daily

Kosher meat eaters beware: If you want your fill of T-bone and rib-eye, be sure to show up at the butcher shop before Madonna’s personal chefs arrive.

The pop star is in Tel Aviv to perform the last two concerts of her worldwide tour. She arrived in the Holy Land on Sunday, and just after her plane touched down, her culinary crew scurried about the seaside city buying up a storm of high protein foods.

At Eazo Meat and Wine Shop, an upscale kosher butchery on Tel Aviv’s trendy Ben Yehuda Street, a chef, sous chef and professional purchaser, all speaking with British accents, were seen by WorldNetDaily carting off cases of meats into a minivan for Madonna and her legion of dancers. Madonna’s culinary team then hit up a local kosher fish store.

A source at the hotel kitchen where Madonna’s food is being prepared told this column that the daily menu for the singer and her crew included about 110 pounds of meat, including rib-eye and T-bone steaks, as well as beef filet. The source said Madonna specifically asked for kosher meat.
