Terrorists Plan Attack, PA Turns Blind Eye
The Palestinian Authority has information about terrorist attacks being planned to coincide with its bid this week to seek a unilateral declaration of state at the United Nations, this column has learned.
Despite knowledge of which cells may be plotting attacks, the PA has made an internal security decision not to disrupt the violent plans or arrest cell members, informed Israeli security officials said.
The security officials said the plots are being hatched by both Hamas and by renegade members of the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, the so-called military wing of PA President Mahmoud Abbas’s Fatah party.
Hamas is aiming to use the attacks to retake the narrative after its Fatah rivals are expected to garner Palestinian and larger Arab popularity following any UN declaration of a Palestinian state, the officials said.
The Al Aqsa Brigades members believe violent attacks focused on Israel’s Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria, commonly referred to as the West Bank, could be used as a pressure tactic against the Jewish state’s presence there.
Is Obama Trying To Unseat Netanyahu?
Is President Obama attempting to unseat Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and replace him with a leftist leader who largely toes the line set by the president for the Middle East?
There are indications the so-called social protests rocking Israel were engineered for that very purpose.
According to an investigative report in Israel’s Maariv newspaper, the country’s protests were engineered by a group of media strategists directed by prominent Democratic strategist Stanley Greenberg, a former adviser to Bill Clinton, John Kerry and others.
Greenberg reportedly is working with Israeli strategists who were behind left-wing leader Ehud Barak’s successful race for prime minister in 1999. Greenberg himself helped to run Barak’s campaign. Barak currently is the defense minister in a coalition government with Netanyahu.
A closer look at Greenberg’s previous work in Israel may betray his ultimate intentions with regard to the social protests.
In 1999, after Netanyahu rebuffed President Clinton’s demands for the relinquishment of strategic territory, Clinton deployed Greenberg along with veteran Democratic image maker Robert Shrum and James Carville to run Barak’s campaign.
This followed the fall of Netanyahu’s governing coalition, an event precipitated behind the scenes by Clinton, according to numerous Netanyahu insiders speaking to this column. Those insiders recounted how the Clinton White House convinced Netanyahu coalition partners to abandon Netanyahu’s government, thus prompting new elections. Barak, leader of the leftist Labor party, was the main challenger against Netanyahu.
Greenberg, Shrum and Carville went to work crafting an image of Netanyahu as spurning Israel’s relationships with the international community, particularly the U.S., while Barak was upheld as the clear candidate of choice.
Now, as protests reportedly engineered by Greenberg run rampant in Israel, Barak has been openly challenging Netanyahu’s policies at every turn.

Storm Israel’s Embassy
Militants from the Muslim Brotherhood were among the rioters who stormed Israel’s embassy in Cairo last weekend, according to Egyptian security officials speaking to this column.
The security officials, from the intelligence apparatus of former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, said the embassy attack was orchestrated.
The officials said Egypt quietly warned their Israeli counterparts two weeks ago about a possible plot against Israel’s Cairo embassy.
Koch: My Vote Hinges On
Obama’s Treatment Of Israel
Ed Koch, a one-time Democratic U.S. congressman and former mayor of New York City, announced that his vote in the 2012 presidential election is directly tied to how Barack Obama treats Israel.
Koch surprised the political world when he joined many other Jewish voters in turning against the Democrats in the special election to replace former New York Rep. Anthony Weiner. Koch endorsed the Republican candidate, eventual victor Bob Turner.
“I hope that the president takes note of what happened,” Koch told “Aaron Klein Investigative Radio” on WABC Radio.
“And if he believes that the Jewish vote is not only important, but if he believes that they are correct in assailing his heretofore positions, then he will change those positions and do what I think he should do, which is to send this message to both Turkey and to Egypt, that if you attack Israel, it will be an attack upon the United States.
“That’s the same kind of message that Jack Kennedy, president during the Cuban Missile crisis, sent to Khrushchev, which was, ‘If you attack any country in the Western Hemisphere, it will be deemed by us as an attack upon the United States,’ ” he continued. “If [Obama] does that, I’ll vote for him.”
Asked what would happen if Obama failed to stand up for Israel and whether Koch would endorse a Republican for president, the former mayor replied, “I see myself staying home and not voting for president.”
He then assailed the GOP figures: “I can’t vote for a guy who says he can’t believe in evolution. The other extreme, right-wing positions that a number of those candidates have, I will not be endorsing.”
