The condition of Ultra-Orthodox Lithuanian leader Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv, 102, who has been hospitalized in recent weeks at Shaare Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem, is deteriorating. He has been ventilated and sedated and is suffering from fever and physical pain.

Shaare Zedek doctors are attempting to treat the problems of water in his lungs and recently discovered infection in his blood.

His condition began to worsen yesterday and he is connected to the respirator again, after being disconnected from it a few days ago.

Family members of the public are asking the public to pray for Refuah Shleima and say Tehillim for Rabbi Yosef Shalom ben Chaya Musha.
