You can always find the most unusual stuff on Yoni Alper’s Terror Watch Facebook page.
With Ramadan fast approaching, and the IDF not scaling back the search for the 3 boys, Eyal Yifrach, Gil-ad Shaar and Naftali Fraenkel, who were kidnapped by Hamas, the IDF has taken steps which can be interpreted as propaganda, pressure, sympathy, biting humor, cynicism, or perhaps a little bit of them all.
During operations last night, the IDF began handing out lollipops to Arabs throughout Judea and Samaria. Presumably they hand them out right before they uncover the hidden tunnels and weapons caches under the furniture.
The lollipops come with a label that says:
“Ramadan Kareem, here is some candy after Hamas embittered your life in the West Bank. You are welcome to share!”
I wonder though, if the IDF subsequently finds a bomb factory or semi-automatic machine gun under the floor boards, do they take the candy back?
Of course, with the Arab penchant to imagine that Israel is poisoning them, or adding aphrodisiacs to the bubble gum, sweet or not, it’s hard to imagine the candy becoming all too popular.Shalom Bear
