The Red Alert incoming rocket alert siren that was activated at around 4:48 pm Sunday afternoon in the Ashkelon Coastal Region was determined to be a false alarm, according to the IDF.

Gunfire emanating from Gaza apparently triggered the rocket alert sirens, the IDF said.

The siren blared its warning – twice – in the Jewish communities of Yad Mordechai and Netiv Ha’Asara, with the alerts activated about two minutes apart.
