Regev, Elkin, to Establish Temple Mount Heritage Fund in Response to UNESCO

Culture and Sports Minister Miri Regev and Minister for the Environment and for Jerusalem Zeev Elkin have decided to establish the Temple Mount Heritage Fund, with an annual budget of about $550,000, to promote awareness of the Jewish historic connection to the Temple Mount, Yedioth Aharonoth reported Monday.

The proposed fund will be submitted to government approval in response to last October’s resolution by UNESCO which denied the connection between the Jewish people and the Temple Mount.

The new fund will be created in addition to the already existing Western Wall Heritage Fund.
