With most of the vote counted, Mitt Romney was ahead with 42 percent compared to 37 for Santorum in the Republican presidential primary in Michigan on Tuesday. NBC, CNN and Fox projected him the winner, after a tight race in which neither candidate mentioned how they had been against the Detroit Big Cars bailout. Romney easily defeated Santorum in Tuesday’s other primary in Arizona.
