The 60-year-old driver, whose name has not been released, fled the scene after hitting the Israeli woman with his car. He later turned himself in to Palestinian Authority police, saying he feared he would be lynched by Israelis.

Israeli security personnel are questioning the driver and continuing their investigation, before deciding whether the incident was an accident or a terror attack. The IDF Spokesperson’s Office said that other areas of the probe are being explored as well.
