Silvan Shalom has droped out of the race for President of Israel, according to a Jerusalem Post report. Shalom decided that he did not have the support of PM Netanyahu, and without it, he’d have no chance.

Likud support is now expected to be focused on Ruby Rivlin, who also doesn’t have the Prime Minister’s support, but does have the support within his Likud party.

As of now, besides Rivlin, only HaTnua’s Meir Sheetrit and Labor’s MK Binyamin Ben-Eliezer are in the running.
