As Arab rioters continue their violence throughout the country, security leaders plan to re-activate a unit that has not been called up for service since 2005.

Arabs in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Issawiya rioted on Sunday, hurling rocks at Israel Police officers who were sent to secure the site.

Four police officers were injured by the attackers as forces were forced to use non-lethal methods to disperse the mob.

Given the wave of terror that has been taking place across Israel and particularly in Jerusalem, a special security unit is being re-activated on public transportation, according to Channel 2 TV.

The unit, to be activated by the Ministry of Transportation, last provided protection for the public against suicide bombers during the second intifada, from 2000 to 2005.

Some 10,000 bus drivers in Israel are set to participate in a special security and defense training program as well, according to the report.
