Susan Rice Says Defending Israel Swallows Much of Her UN time

By: JTA

Defending Israel’s legitimacy is a “huge part” of her work as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, Susan Rice told a Reform Judaism event Sunday evening.

“It’s a huge part of my work to the United Nations,” she said at the launching of this year’s social activists’ Consultation on Conscience, organized by the Religious Action Center.

She likened the volume of work to her efforts to coordinate Syria’s isolation and to contain violence and abuses in Sudan, and added that she often works in “lockstep” with the Israeli delegation.

“We will not rest in the crucial work of defending Israel’s security and legitimacy every day at the United Nations,” Rice said.

She noted that Israel’s success at the United Nations often is not reported, for instance in joining the boards of the U.N. Development Program and UNICEF, and in advancing development initiatives.

  2. Considering the amount of UN attention that Israel gets – it should.

By the way – what else does the UN do besides condemning Israel?

  3. Month by month, and week by week the middle east spins more out of control. Iran continues unwavering on it’s march in the development of nuclear weapons and Assad the dictator of Syria is still in power. Current intelligence seems uncertain of when Iran will get the bomb and Israel cannot afford to gamble with this. Assad of Syria looks like he may be willing to use weapons of mass destruction against his own people and against near by nations as well. If this situation does not drastically change soon for the better, I believe the war in Isaiah Chapter 17 will likely take place. Damascus Syria would be destroyed. The worlds economy would likely collapse as a result and could usher in a one world government movement. I wrote a small 6 page book that outlines what I believe the Bible states will take place soon as well as the potential trends I see at this time. I don’t accept donations and it’s free. It’s a short read. I encourage you to have a look: http://www.booksie.com/religion_and_spirituality/book/richard_b_barnes/after-the-rapture-whats-next.

Susan Rice, a political tool of the State Department, is merely reflecting the standard mantra of the State Department..defend the Jews and make it appear realistic, to a certain degree.

  8. John Doeman says:

bombing and hating the Americans in an act of retaliation for a US interventionist policy in the middle east that results in deaths, destruction and occupation. The animals in the middle east should be left to kill themselves without US weapons or support. Americans owe the jews and muzzies nothing but contempt for killing our soldiers, extorting our government, promoting socialism and democracy and tuning our government into a charity organization. America is a republic for a reason.
