Syrian and its Iranian ally threatened on Thursday to retaliate against Israel for the undeclared bombing of a truck convoy of sophisticated anti-aircraft missiles header from Damascus to the Hizbullah terrorist army in Lebanon.

Damascus “has the option and the capacity to surprise in retaliation,” warned Syrian Ambassador to Lebanon Ali Abdul-Karim Ali. Pro-Syrian parties and Hizbullah dominate the Lebanese government, and the Hizbullah army has begun to become part of the Lebanese army.

Russia chimed in and also condemned Israel’s attack on the anti-aircraft missiles, which, if they were to fall in Hizbullah’s hands, could cripple Israel’s defense in the event of a Hizbullah attack.

The Iranian regime’s semi-official Fars news Agency reported that Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian said the “attack displayed the common goals of the terrorists and the Zionist regime with regard to Syria.”

Fars falsely stated that “sources n Tel Aviv” claimed the attack was on a research center near Damascus, a claim that actually was made by the embattled regime of Syrian President Bashar Assad but not confirmed by any other course.
