Rebels, termed “terrorists” by the Assad regime, killed six people in a car bomb explosion in Damascus that failed to claim the life of its main target, Prime Minister Wael al-Halaqi.

Official state media broadcast the report of the car bomb, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights confirmed it.

The apparent suicide attack was carried out as al-Halaqui’s convoy was passing by in a government-controlled area that includes a key military airport.

Information from Syria is extremely unreliable from both the regime of Syrian President Bashar Assad and opposition groups.
